MANILA, Philippines — D&L Industries, a chemicals and food ingredients company, has commenced commercial operations of its new manufacturing facility in Batangas.
D&L’s Batangas plant has issued its first invoice yesterday, marking the commencement of its commercial operations, according to D&L president and CEO Alvin Lao.
The company expects full commercial operations in the next couple of months after the final fine tuning works on the remaining parts of the plant have been completed. At present, several production lines are already operating.
D&L has allocated a capex of P10.5 billion for the Batangas plant.
“Today, we celebrate an important milestone. After facing several challenges in the form of a pandemic, strict lockdowns during the construction, and global supply chain bottlenecks, our next generation facility in Batangas has finally started commercial operations,” Lao said.
The Batangas plant will allow the company to venture into new global markets and manufacture higher value added products.
It plans to launch a full range of shelf-ready products for its export customers.
These products are made from coconut oil, for the personal and baby care, cosmetics and beauty care, household cleaning, health and nutrition, and food and vegetable oils categories that are sustainable, natural, and organic.
The plant will also enable D&L to move a step closer to its customers by providing customized solutions and simplifying their supply chain, which is of high importance given ongoing global logistical challenges.
With the new plant and new products in the pipeline, D&L offers a plug-and-play solution for global brand owners who are looking to beef up their sustainable product offerings.
“Our Batangas plant puts us in a good position as global demand returns,” Lao said.
D&L’s Batangas plant sits on a 26-ha property in First Industrial Township-Special Economic Zone in Batangas.
Owned by the Lao family, D&L Industries is a Filipino company engaged in product customization and specialization for the food, chemicals, plastics and consumer products ODM industries.
The company’s principal business activities include manufacturing of customized food ingredients, specialty raw materials for plastics, and oleochemicals for personal and home care use.
