MANILA, Philippines — Solana Solar Alpha Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alternergy’s Solar Pacific Energy Corp., has signed an agreement with the Villar Group’s Kratos RES Inc. for the supply of renewable energy.
Alternergy, in stock exchange filing, said Solana Solar will supply Kratos RES with 10 megawatts (MW) and up to 20-MW of clean and renewable power from the soon-to-be built Solana solar power project in Hermosa, Bataan.
“We are pleased to partner with Kratos RES to help its electricity end-consumers achieve their sustainability goals and transition their power supply to renewable energy,” Alternergy chairman and Solana Solar chairman and president Vicente Pérez Jr. said.
The 28-MW direct current Solana solar power project is part of Alternergy’s robust expansion plans in the next five years.
The project has recently secured financing commitments from a Philippine commercial bank and a commitment for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) from a leading EPC provider.
Alternergy said early works activities for the project have started, with the full swing construction to commence in the coming months.
“The Solana solar power project will provide reliable and cost competitive electricity supply to malls, offices, complexes and manufacturing facilities served by Kratos, whose businesses require operational and cost efficiencies,” Solar Pacific chief executive officer Mike Lichtenfeld said.
Solar Pacific, a subsidiary of Alternergy, is an independent clean energy producer based in the Philippines and active throughout Asia-Pacific.
Since 2013, the company has been developing, building, financing, and operating solar and battery storage projects throughout Asia-Pacific.
“By partnering with Kratos, we are proud to assist these sectors make sustainability part of how they operate,” Lichtenfeld said.
Kratos RES is wholly owned subsidiary of Villar Group’s Prime Asset Ventures Inc. engaged in retail electricity supply.
It currently supplies electricity to malls, complexes, and offices nationwide.
