German cosmetics, wellness firms eye Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — German companies are exploring opportunities in the Philippines’ cosmetic and wellness sector.

The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI),in partnership with Etaily, the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery, and Detergent Association (IKW), and the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) hosted a conference Monday to connect the visiting companies with local stakeholders.

“Our chamber is happy to provide the stage for them to connect with key stakeholders in the Philippines, fostering valuable partnerships and exploring exciting business opportunities,” GPCCI executive director Christopher Zimmer said.

“The participation of these German companies highlights a charming potential in the cosmetics and wellness sectors in the Philippines,” he said.

Among the participating German firms are Nobis, Estatira Organic, MedSkin Solutions, Medical Beauty Research and Skin Care Manufaktur.

Nobis is a company that produces dietary supplements and cosmetics using natural ingredients.  It offers exclusive cosmetic care series for various skin requirements.

Estatira Organic manufactures essential cosmetic and healthcare products with a focus on natural ingredients.

Meanwhile, MedSkin Solutions has been a leader in biotech solutions for tissue regeneration and skinhealth, providing effective and cost-efficient products, while Medical Beauty Research (MBR) specializes in luxury and premium skin and hair care products developed through intensive cosmetic research and the use of exquisite active ingredients.

In addition, Skin Care Manufaktur develops, produces, and distributes innovative and high quality skin care products globally from their state-of-the-art facilities in Germany.

The German delegation will further explore partnership potentials with Philippine counterparts through B2B-meetings, and other networking activities in the following days.

Apart from the five German firms, the GPCCI said the conference also featured a talk from various retail industry heads in the Philippines particularly Etaily Fast Moving Consumer Goods/Beauty Director Alexandria Garcia and SM Supermalls President Steven Tan who talked about their  outlook on the Philippine Beauty Industry and trends on E-commerce Market and Consumer Retail Sector, respectively.
