Training course on 2019 Revised Corporation Code
MANILA, Philippines — The 2019 Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines is the bible of all corporations in the Philippines. If you sit on the board, serves as a corporate secretary, compliance officer, lawyers or occupying a key position in a corporation, its your business to know this law that took effect on Feb. 23, 2019. All corporate actions or board resolutions your organization will do should always be aligned with this law and its implementing rules and regulations. Non-compliance could be very costly as experienced by many corporations.
The Center for Global Best Practices invites everyone to attend an online training entitled, 2019 Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines to be held on Friday, June 30 from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. via Zoom.
This program is designed to help in business compliance, in structuring deals and to avoid the legal pitfalls when making decisions at board and management level, meetings or when doing business and investing in the Philippines.
The revised legal framework introduces fresh concepts aligned with international best practices aimed at improving ease of doing business in the country. It will also cover updates on essential Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued regulations and recent jurisprudence affecting corporations. This program is SEC-accredited for corporate governance. Board directors and key management officials of public or publicly listed companies are mandated by the SEC to attend a yearly corporate governance training for them to be eligible for re-election in the board.
Learn from lawyer Justina Callangan who is a former director of corporate governance and finance department of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Her responsibilities included the supervision of companies that are covered by new various Codes of Corporate Governance. She is a director (representing the public sector) of the Securities Investors Protection Fund, Inc. and an independent director of AIB Money Market Mutual Fund, Inc. and Orix Metro Leasing and Finance Corporation of the Metro Bank Group. She also serves as independent director of three publicly-listed firms such as the Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation, Vista Land and Lifescapes, Inc. and VistaReit, Inc.
