Consunjis ventureinto leisure market
MANILA, Philippines — The Consunji Group is making its foray into the leisure property market, putting it in the league of other property giants who are into leisure developments such as vacation homes and beach communities.
Consunji-owned DMCI Homes, a developer of resort-themed residential condominiums, is stepping into this expansion with a new sub-brand called DMCI Homes Leisure Residences.
The company is planning to launch its new brand by the middle of the year with a tropical beach park ‘condotel’ in San Juan, Batangas, a vacation destination in southern Luzon that is increasingly becoming popular, said DMCI Homes president Alfredo Austria.
He said San Juan’s variety of tourist attractions including pristine beaches, ancestral houses, old churches and local delicacies, make it ideal to host the first project of DMCI Homes Leisure Residences.
“The aim of DMCI Homes Leisure Residences is to offer holistic holiday experiences that exude comfort, wellness, and refined indulgence, setting it apart from other properties in its category,” Austria said.
“With DMCI Homes Leisure Residences, we aspire to replicate DMCI Homes’ brand of superior value in each leisure property by offering quality products and premier services fully experienced in upscale resort hotels and leisure communities, at price points that will delight value-discerning clientele,” he said.
Other projects of the new sub-brand of DMCI Homes will cater to leisure seekers such as a development in Laguna and in Tuba, Benguet.
Aside from DMCI Homes Leisure Residences, DMCI Homes also has DMCI Homes Exclusive, which caters to the luxury market. DMCI Homes Leisure is the second sub-brand created by DMCI Homes.
DMCI Homes, the country’s first quadruple A developer, has been providing quality homes and resort-inspired communities nationwide since 1999 in Mega Manila, Baguio, Boracay and Davao City.
Data showed that it has turned over 53,864 residential units in over 85 launched projects as of February this year.
To date, its portfolio boasts of more than 60 properties since it was launched in 1999.
The Consunji Group, founded by the late engineering tycoon David Consunji, is also into infrastructure, mining, power, among other businesses.
Its chairman Isidro Consunji has said his family is expanding into the agriculture industry.
