Aboitiz Group highlights transformation journey

MANILA, Philippines — The Aboitiz Group highlighted its Great Transformation journey at the ASEAN Innovation Business Platform (AIBP) Conference & Exhibition Philippines 2022.

Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) chief finance officer Manuel Lozano, in a panel discussion focused on the conference’s theme “Navigating the Intersection of Sustainable Growth, Business, and Technology,” shared the group’s journey towards innovation and sustainability.

“For Aboitiz, technology will power sustainability. Our Great Transformation to become the first Philippine Techglomerate is our way to exponentially grow the business and utilize technology to have better sustainability impacts at scale,” said Lozano.

The Great Transformation is a blueprint for the Aboitiz Group to become a future-ready ‘techglomerate.’

It puts emphasis on the latest technologies with a revitalized entrepreneurial and innovation-driven mindset.

“Data science has been the core differentiator for Aboitiz. Our data-driven approach in decision making is helping us to have deeper insights and understanding, efficiency, identify risks and opportunities, and solve complex problems,” Lozano said during the panel discussions.

He shared one example of how Aboitiz is using data which is through the creation of Digital Twins of AboitizPower plants as a way to avoid productivity losses in their operations.

“The data provided by the Digital Twins was able to save costs and achieve the plant’s availability and reliability targets,” he said.
