Geely opens first in-line store in Philippines

Catherine Talavera - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The local distributor of Geely vehicles has recently opened its first in-line store in the country as part of its efforts to bring the brand closer to buyers.

In a statement yesterday, Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corp. (SGAP) opened its first ever in-line store inside SM City Taytay, in Rizal Province in October.

“The opening of our first in-line store in SM City Taytay is a realization of our goal to give our customers a more convenient access to our vehicles. This is a step in going beyond the usual dealerships that we currently have,” SGAP president and chief executive officer Yugo Kiyofuji said.

During the celebration of Geely Philippines’ third year in the country last month, Kiyofuji said that aside from shifting more toward improving the quality of the dealers to satisfy the customers, Geely continues to explore other possibilities in making sure that the brand continues to cope and adapt to its customers’ needs.

The SM City Taytay mall store will be under the management of Geely North EDSA, a dealership directly owned by Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corp.
The outlet will display two to three cars at any given time.

In addition, customers can also conduct test drives of all Geely vehicles upon inquiry as test drive vehicles will be available for interested buyers.

“With the current 34 Geely dealerships operating nationwide, customers have yet to see more facilities to open soon as Geely Philippines has set its eyes to achieve more than 40 dealer outlets soon,”SGAP said.

In September, SGAP opened Geely Bataan in Balanga City, its 34th outlet in the country.

“The opening of Geely Bataan is another achievement to our network expansion efforts that would further support our goal to attain the five-digit sales for this year,” Kiyofuji said earlier.

The company also opened a dealership in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan in September.

In the first nine months, the company posted a 92 percent increase in sales to 7,311 units.

The growth was led by record sales of 1,112 units in September.
