CGBP holds webinar on corporate governance

MANILA, Philippines — In compliance with Sec. 2, Article 5F of Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) Memorandum Circular 2012-05 requiring all appointive directors and CEOs of government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs) to attend a training on public corporate governance within three months from one’s date of appointment, the Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) will hold a two-session webinar titled “Basic Corporate Governance for GOCCs” to be held on Sept. 29 and 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. via Zoom.

Good corporate governance is the foundation of a successful organization. This program is to update the existing board, and to guide aspiring or newly appointed directors, CEOs and top management on the principles of corporate governance, their duties, responsibilities and accountability, performance management, evaluation and more! The GCG and SEC-accredited training is to fulfill board directors’ compliance requirement to attend a corporate governance training designed to guide them to be an effective director or CEO of a GOCC.

The program will be led by CGBP course director and lecturer, lawyer Rainer Dela Fuente who is a Certified Public Accountant with an extensive experience in taxation and corporate governance.
