Cebu Pacific revives Manila-Brunei flights

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific continues to revive its international network as borders open up and travel restrictions ease.

In its latest effort to bring back and boost its international service, the Gokongwei-led airline said it intends to resume its Manila–Brunei flight on July 23, following two years of absence.

This will bring Cebu Pacific’s total restored international destinations to 18.

Cebu Pacific plans to restart its flights between Manila and Brunei next month, beginning with a twice weekly frequency every Thursday and Saturday.

“We are delighted to keep boosting our international flight frequencies as we continuously see strong demand for air travel,” Cebu Pacific chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.

“We are especially happy to bring this route back after a two-year hiatus as we know many of our kababayans are looking forward to visiting their family and friends – whether in Brunei, or back home in the Philippines,” Lao said.

Cebu Pacific said fully vaccinated Filipinos flying to Brunei are only required to present their proof of complete vaccination, along with an e-health arrival declaration form which must be filled out not more than 24 hours before departure.

It said a certificate of travel medical insurance with COVID coverage must also be presented upon check-in.

Cebu Pacific earlier announced plans to resume by next month its three times weekly flights to Sydney, Australia, as well as its twice weekly flights from Cebu to Seoul (Incheon).

It also intends to increase its flights to Nagoya, Japan to five times weekly starting June 29, double its daily frequency between Manila and Singapore starting July 1, increase Manila to Dubai flights to 10 times weekly starting July 2, and restart flights between Cebu and Singapore on July 15.
