Soon-to-rise hotel near BGC gears up for travel recovery

MANILA, Philippines — Ridgewood Premier Hotel is gearing up for the recovery of the travel and tourism sector as it targets to open next year to coincide with the projected timetable for the global exit from the pandemic.

Currently in full construction mode, the hotel project will occupy the 15th to 19th floors of Ridgewood Towers Premier along the main C5 Road, right across the British and Korean embassies, near the Bonifacio Global City.

“As a new player, Ridgewood Premier Hotel will create around 100 jobs in the service sector, from front office to F&B and housekeeping,” the hotel’s incoming chief operating officer, Marc Ngo, said.

He said the jobs forecast is important, as the travel and tourism sector, hotels in particular, was severely affected by the pandemic, with many jobs either lost or furloughed.

Ngo added that with the higher cost of travel and other related expenses, companies and leisure travelers would now prefer getting their money’s worth, noting that  the hotel hit it big location-wise.

“With Ridgewood Premier Hotel’s favorable location, we can offer the best rates. It lies in BGC’s sweet spot, right between hotels that are too expensive and hotels that are too far. This means that many travelers, who are now cost-conscious given today’s economy, can always choose us as an option for better value.”

The hotel’s strategic location also provides business and leisure travellers easy access to Manila’s premier international airport, which is approximately 15 minutes away.
