MANILA, Philippines — ABS-CBN Corp. has appointed Kriz Anthony Gazmen as the new head of ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc., replacing Olivia Lamasan who has opted for early retirement as managing director of the company, which is behind film brands Star Cinema and Black Sheep Productions.

ABS-CBN said Gazmen has 15 years of experience in the film industry, working as producer, screenwriter, and creative director.

Prior to being appointed as head of ABS-CBN Films which is effective May 1, he served as the business unit head of Black Sheep.

ABS-CBN said Gazmen was responsible for the creation of the brand, crafting and implementation of strategies to capture a new audience base and creative and business direction of all its projects.

He also represented ABS-CBN Films and brought its projects in international film markets and festivals.

Before heading Black Sheep, he was the creative director for Star Cinema, where his works as screenwriter and producer garnered multiple awards and recognitions from award-giving bodies.

ABS-CBN said Lamasan, meanwhile, would continue to serve as a consultant of the company. She will be a consultant for content, partnerships, and talent management via RISE Artists Studio.

ABS-CBN said Lamasan steered ABS-CBN Films toward new ventures and partnerships amid the many challenges brought about by the pandemic, making the company’s well-loved content available across different platforms while maintaining its position as a reliable producer of inspiring Filipino stories.
