CebuPac receives 10th A321neo
MANILA, Philippines — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific continues to strengthen its status as the greenest airline in Asia as it received its 10th brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft, which is set to enter into service within the month.
Cebu Pacific’s newest A321neo, its 18th eco-plane, is known for its 20 percent increase in fuel-efficiency and nearly 50 percent reduction in noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft.
The aircraft is set to enter into service within the month to fly to various domestic destinations across Cebu Pacific’s extensive network.
“The arrival is timely because we see positive developments indicating recovery. We are continuously ramping up our domestic network and are preparing for more international destinations to ease restrictions for leisure travelers,” Cebu Pacific chief strategy officer Alex Reyes said.
Cebu Pacific said the newest A321neo joins its young fleet that includes the A330neo, dubbed the greenest aircraft in Asia because its 459-seat availability allows more travelers to be carried in a single flight, resulting in the lowest carbon footprint per passenger per kilometer.
“Our shift to the more fuel-efficient NEO engine aircraft not only supports our sustainability strategy, but also enables us to continue offering our trademark low fares for everyJuan,” Reyes said.
Cebu Pacific’s fleet is currently composed of 22 A320ceo, six A320neo, seven A321ceo, 10 A321neo, six A330ceo, two A330neo, 14 ATR 72-600, six ATR 72-500 and two ATR freighters.
The airline will have 53 aircraft deliveries from 2022 to 2027 to support its plans to increase frequency on current routes and to add new city pairs and destinations.
