MANILA, Philippines — A new app offering personal shopping and delivery service that allows customers in Metro Manila to purchase items in multiple stores in malls is expanding its presence to include greater Manila area, Cebu, and Davao.
Shahab Shabibi, mymall co-founder, said the app that allows users to shop for groceries, food and other items in malls and get these delivered to their doorstep within minutes currently covers 40 malls in Metro Manila.
“With mymall, customers connect with a professional shopper that can pick up items from as many stores as they want,” he said.
After a customer is matched with a professional shopper, the user will have to send his or shopping list so the shopper can get the items from as many stores as needed.
Shabibi, who is also behind super service app MyKuya, said the professional shoppers are able to do the job quickly as they are former merchandisers, promodizers and cashiers laid off due to the pandemic and have been trained to know the stores and items in the mall.
While there is no limit on the number of stores a user can shop from, the app sets a 15-kilogram cap on the weight of items per transaction.
Shabibi said there is no markup on the items purchased through the app and customers will be paying for the regular store price through cashless payment options available such as Visa, MasterCard, GCash or PayMaya.
Stores also do not have to pay mymall a commission.
“This is critical because these commissions have been hurting businesses,” Shabibi added.
Aside from the actual cost of the items purchased, users just need to pay an introductory fee of P79 covering both the shopping and delivery service.
Once the purchase has been made, customers can opt to have the items delivered instantly or later in the day by the app’s riders.
