DHL lends support to Philippine cooperatives
MANILA, Philippines — International express service provider DHL Express is teaming up with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to support the logistics needs of cooperatives in the country.
DHL and CDA have signed a partnership agreement to support and extend accounts-promotional offers and discounts to international orders made via CDA’s e-commerce marketplace for cooperative called CoopBiz.
“The cooperative sector has untapped potentials in the international market. We are thrilled to be working with CDA to provide and extend possibilities for these enterprises, making it easier for them to prosper through technology and digitalization,” DHL Express Philippines country manager Nigel Lockett said.
“Cooperatives can fully harness our worldwide network to expand their businesses by leveraging our presence in over 220 countries and territories, paired with our logistic expertise,” Lockett said.
DHL Express said at least 30 cooperatives with unique and quality products have signified their readiness and anticipation to be part of the initial implementation of the global marketplace for cooperatives in the Philippines.
According to the company, qualified cooperatives that register on CoopBiz will be able to use DHL Express services to ship their goods and products.
Furthermore, they will have access to exclusive promo codes and discounts on shipment bookings made via the platform.
DHL Express customer service is also available to assist bookings or queries on the promo codes.
CDA, on the other hand, will actively promote and market the promotional offers to its cooperatives through SMS and e-mails, on its official website, social media sites, mobile applications, and other channels.
CoopBiz was developed by CDA to provide an enabling environment for cooperatives and usher further the growth of cooperatives in the country.
“Both entities are going to serve the cooperative sector in the country. This is a milestone because this is not just about CDA, but how DHL can contribute to economic sustainability. I believe that DHL and CDA are now conduits of social equity and progress,” CDA Undersecretary Joseph Encabo said.
