MANILA, Philippines — KFC Philippines is seeing strong expansion potential in Mindanao as investors in the region are beginning to appreciate the opportunities being presented by KFC’s innovative and hassle-free sub-franchising scheme.

Proof of this is the opening of the KFC branch in Quezon Avenue, Cotabato City, Maguindanao – the quick-service restaurant’s first sub-franchised outlet in Mindanao through Seven Jewels Corp.  Seven Jewels Corp. aims to expand the KFC brand in the Soccsksargen region and other areas of opportunity in Mindanao.

“This only shows that local investors have strong trust and confidence in the brand, equal to the faith given by the company that it can expand in the region with its economic growth,” Yvette Roldan, KFC franchise management director said.

KFC Philippines, through its sub-franchisees, is targeting a minimum of 20 new stores this year, generally in the Visayas and Mindanao where the brand’s popularity is starting to pick up immensely.

“We do not only aim to expand the brand’s visibility, but also to give job opportunities within these communities with their own KFC store,” Roldan said.

Sub-franchisees’ store personnel will be well-equipped with all the necessary tools and proper training to ensure that quality of service is aligned with all branches.

“We ensure that our high-quality food service and the world-famous 11 secret herbs and spices will be at the same level throughout all our stores. Interested entrepreneurs who own a property for a potential KFC franchise may send details to KFC Franchising or visit https://corporate.kfc.com.ph/franchising/,” Roldan said.

Investment starts at P19 million, which already includes the construction of the store, all equipment and initial fees.

She stressed that everything will be provided to the sub-franchisees, including “pre-opening marketing support, management and human resource capabilities.”

For the past two years amid the pandemic, KFC still managed to strengthen its franchising push, with new stores opening in Capas, Tarlac; Candelaria, Quezon; Malolos and Bocaue, Bulacan; Antique; Angono, Rizal; and this most recent one in Cotabato City.
