SNAP inks RE supply deals
MANILA, Philippines — Renewable energy solutions provider SN Aboitiz Power Group (SNAP) has signed power supply agreements (PSA) with two distribution utilities (DUs) to provide clean power.
SNAP said it signed a nine-year PSA with Ifugao Electric Cooperative (IFELCO) on Jan. 20, marking the continuation of their partnership. IFELCO has been SNAP’s valued partner since 2007.
“IFELCO has been one of our longest DU partners, and this agreement represents both our organizations’ commitment to sustainability. Thank you for continuing to put your faith in us for your power needs— by choosing SNAP’s responsible energy, you are supporting our mission to power a more sustainable future,” SNAP president and CEO Joseph Yu said.
Meanwhile, IFELCO board chairwoman Mary Jane Chummac said SNAP’s renewable energy supply had enabled them to provide clean, high-quality, and affordable electricity to their customers over the years.
“We thank you for this partnership, not only with IFELCO, but also with the entire consumers of the province,” IFELCO project supervisor/acting general manager Boyet Acuesta said.
SNAP also started implementing its PSA with Cagayan II Electric Cooperative (CAGELCO II) on Jan. 26, its first supply agreement with the Cagayan distribution utility.
“With our partnership with IFELCO, which spans over a decade, and new partnership with CAGELCO, we hope to enable more customers make the switch to renewables, in support of the government’s RE programs,” Yu said.
SNAP Group supplies clean, renewable, and dependable energy through the operation of the 105-megawatt (MW) Ambuklao hydro, and the 140-MW Binga hydro in the province of Benguet. SNAP also operates the 8.5-megawatt Maris hydro in Isabela, as well as the newly uprated 360- to 388-MW Magat hydro on the border of Isabela and Ifugao.
