TV5 seen profitable by 2024
MANILA, Philippines — TV5 Network Inc. continues to make strides in its attempt to become profitable in the next few years, sustaining its growth momentum in recent months.
While profitability for TV5 may still not happen this year, the network’s chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said it may come by 2024.
“TV5 is doing well,” Pangilinan told The STAR.
Pangilinan earlier said the network has been making some progress, slowly erasing losses from previous years.
Pangilinan said the ABS-CBN content being shown in TV5 has helped boost the network’s ratings a bit.
Some ABS-CBN shows started airing in TV5 last January following a collaboration between Cignal, Brightlight Productions, TV5 and the Lopez-owned network.
Aside from the ABS-CBN programs, TV5 has also been aggressively producing and introducing its own entertainment content.
The company has also welcomed talents from different networks to further beef up its roster.
TV5 – through TV, radio and online platforms – broadcasts extensive sports, news and entertainment programs.
