Globe At Home upgrading subscriber plans
MANILA, Philippines — Globe Telecom Inc.’s broadband group is migrating existing subscribers to better connectivity experiences and providing mass market families in the rural areas with affordable but reliable connectivity.
The telco said Globe At Home has upgraded for free the plans of half of its postpaid customers as part of the firm’s efforts to level up its customer care.
It has been increasing the broadband speeds of eligible Globe At Home customers and rightsizing or upgrading older plans to the new portfolio, without additional fees.
The company said these kinds of services have already been undertaken for about 50 percent of Globe At Home postpaid base.
To provide faster connection, Globe At Home’s unlimited broadband plans 1699 and 1899 were upgraded to 25 Mbps and 35 Mbps, respectively.
The modems of its fixed wireless customers were also proactively upgraded to improve their speeds until such time that they can be shifted to a wired or fiber technology.
“This is how much we value our customers and how much they matter to us. We want to ensure we proactively service our customers without them asking for it to stay ahead and never get left behind,” Globe vice president and head of broadband business Darius Delgado said.
Apart from fiber builds, Globe At Home is also expanding its KonekTayo service which provides internet coverage via a network of access points in high-density mass-dwelling units.
It is currently available in selected areas in Metro Manila, Iloilo, Tacloban, Cavite, and Laguna, with more areas to come soon.
The broadband group has also lowered down the prices in selected channels for the Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi modems and Globe MyFi devices to lower the barrier to entry of economically-challenged households wanting a modem or device for their homes.
“By refreshing our prepaid offer portfolio and expanding our community WiFi footprint via KonekTayo, we reach more of the masses and uplift their lives in the new normal,” Delgado said.
Globe At Home is on track on its target to provide one million additional fiber lines by the end of the year.
