MANILA, Philippines — Jollibee Foods Corp., the listed Filipino-owned food conglomerate, is opening its flagship store at London’s West End, the UK capital’s world famous theater district.

The flagship store, located in Leicester Square, is set to open on May 20.

Jollibee Group Ernesto Tanmantiong said the group continues to expand in Europe and in many parts of the world as part of its overall goal to be among the top five food companies in the world.

“Bringing Jollibee to London’s West End is part of our continued commitment to expand in Europe and bring our delicious crispy Chickenjoy to more people around the world,” Tanmantiong said.

So far, the company has sold over three million pieces of chicken to the British people and this is set to rise to 15 million by the end of 2022.

By 2025, Jollibee intends to have 50 stores across Europe, including its first restaurant in Spain.

Tanmantiong said the Jollibee Group plans to open 450 restaurants across its brands this year with the longterm goal of being one of the world’s top five restaurant operators.

“We know customers are excited to try new restaurants and visitors will return to key tourist destinations like central London, helping to fuel the capital’s restaurant industry,” Tanmantiong said.

Jollibee Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia president Dennis Flores said opening in central London is a huge step forward for Jollibee.

“Jollibee remains on track for our continued growth across the UK and Europe,” said Adam Parkinson, business head of Jollibee Europe.
