MANILA, Philippines — Asian food conglomerate Jollibee Foods Corp. is further expanding in Europe, driven by the strong support from locals.

In the United Kingdom, 70 percent of JFC’s customers are locals.

JFC is targeting to add 50 stores in Europe in the next five years, following the success of its expansion in Rome, Liverpool, and Leicester City last year.

This year, the restaurant chain will open its Europe flagship location in Leicester Square, London to be followed by seven other store openings, including its first stores in Scotland in Edinburgh, in Wales in Cardiff, and in Madrid, Spain.

“The Jollibee Group is dedicated to growing the Jollibee brand in the UK and across Europe. Investing £50 million demonstrates our commitment to become a major player in the European quick-service industry,” said Dennis Flores, Jollibee Group Regional Business Head for Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

By end-April, Jollibee UK will launch an app that will allow customers to order in advance.

Adam Parkinson, Jollibee Group Market Head for Europe, said they would continue to invest in technology to enhance delivery and take-out experience.

“Simultaneously, we are investing in technologies such as a mobile app for click and collect along with in store contactless kiosk options to bring additional convenience to our customers,” Parkinson said.
