MANILA, Philippines — GMA Network Inc. is rebranding its second free-to-air channel, GMA News TV, into GTV starting this month.

GTV is expected to complement main channel GMA’s strong nationwide reach.

“This Feb. 22, the Kapuso Network is keeping it good with its second free-to-air channel’s fresh new look as GTV – offering the news you trust and new shows to love,” GMA said.

GTV will be available via free-to-air, cable, satellite and digital receivers.

It will also air abroad through international channels such as GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International.

GMA said alongside its newscasts, GTV would offer fresh programming options. It will also be airing the upcoming NCAA seasons to cater to sports fans.

GMA has earmarked more than P20 billion for its capital expenditures and content cost in the next three years as it goes full blast on content production and digital TV expansion.

The company is set to construct a new building as well as state-of-the-art studios inside the GMA Network complex in Quezon City.

Early this month, it launched a plug-and-play dongle called GMA Now that allows users to watch TV on the go for free, with the addition of exclusive interactive features.
