Pepsi opens new plant in Batangas
MANILA, Philippines — Beverage manufacturer Pepsi Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI) has opened a new production line in Batangas for its carbonated soft drinks products.
In a statement, the firm said it inaugurated the newest production line in Santo Tomas, Batangas earlier this month.
The new production line would boost the firm’s output of carbonated soft drinks in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles by 30 percent.
The amount of investment made in the production line was not available as of press time.
“After six months of preparation, the newest Southern Tagalog Regional Office (STRO) line is proudly PCPPI’s most advanced bottle production facility yet. This addition will address the growing needs for refreshing drinks of the public who are already recovering from the effects of the pandemic,” PCPPI president and chief executive officer Frederick Ong said.
He said the fresh investment also shows the firm’s commitment to spur economic activity through the creation of jobs.
“We believe that our country is on its way to recovery and, by investing and expanding our business, we can support the economic upswing,” he said.
The new production line is also aligned with sustainable business practices, with PET as one of the highly recyclable and sustainable plastic materials in the world.
With the opening of the new line, PCPPI now has four fully operational lines in STRO for the production of PepsiCo beverages.
PCPPI is the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages in the country.
It manufactures and sells brands such as Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, 7-Up, Mirinda, Mug, Gatorade, Tropicana, Lipton, Sting, Premier, Sips, Milkis, Let’s Be and Aquafina.
The firm has 14 manufacturing facilities across the country, serving more than 700,000 outlets.
