China Bank taps Multisys for digital solution

MANILA, Philippines — China Banking Corp. has tapped leading software company Multisys Technologies Corp. to deliver game-changing digital solutions for the bank’s clients.

Romeo Uyan, chief operating officer at China Bank, said the pandemic has changed the game and the bank is committed to deliver game-changing solutions for the benefit of customers.

“Our partnership with Multisys is in line with our strategy to fast-track and scale up our ongoing digitization efforts to make banking progressively easier, safer, and more inclusive,” Uyan said.

Under the partnership, Multisys would provide innovative solutions to help boost China Bank’s cash management capabilities, including the expansion of its electronic collection channels and e-commerce solutions.

The solutions would empower business customers including small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to do business online and facilitate electronic collection.

Multisys chief executive officer and founder David Almirol said the collaboration with China Bank is part of its mission to continually empower businesses from all industries with the latest tools, innovative services and modern systems to implement advanced digital solutions.

“The optimization of China Bank’s digital channels and back-end processes through our solutions is one of our ways to help the banking industry and the country in its digital transformation journey. Enabling our partners from various industries to reach their full digital potential is our commitment to our customers, clients and stakeholders,” Almirol said.

With the tieup, Multisys now serves as China Bank’s technology partner and system integrator.

The bank, a vital cog in the SM Group of companies, would be able to provide partner merchants and business customers with a digital platform to accept cash payments on behalf of institutional and regional institutions, gather collected funds from agents, facilitate the payment of overseas Filipino workers, load e-wallets, transfer funds, cash-out transactions for SAP disbursements, purchase e-tickets or book transportation.

China Bank is celebrating its centennial this year and is accelerating its digital transformation to better address the financial needs of Filipino consumers and entrepreneurs.

It provides a full range of banking products and services to corporate, commercial, and retail customers through 632 branches and 1,021 ATMs, including the 158 branches and 162 ATMs of China Bank Savings.

Subsidiaries include China Bank Capital Corp., China Bank Securities Corp., Chinabank Insurance Brokers Inc., and affiliate Manulife China Bank Life Assurance Corp.
