Seaoil opens 500th station

MANILA, Philippines — Seaoil Philippines Inc. said it remains on track to meet its expansion target for this year.

In a statement, the independent fuel company said it opened its 500th station located along Meralco Avenue in San Antonio, Pasig City.

“Beating the wider business downturn resulting from the pandemic, Seaoil has remained aggressive in growing its retail network this year,” Seaoil said.

Apart from the new station in Pasig City, the company also opened new stations in Quezon City, Batangas, Mindoro, Pampanga, Cabanatuan, Abra, Compostela Valley, Iloilo, Aklan, Cotabato and Davao.

“The opening of our 500th station is part of our goal to fuel a better future in every community and every neighborhood that we are in,” Seaoil chief executive officer Glenn Yu said.

“This milestone brings us closer to our goal of having 600 stations nationwide by the end of this year,”Yu added.

Seaoil said the expansion of its footprint also strengthens the company’s commitment to support the Philippines as it bounces back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the opening of more stations, Seaoil aims to generate local jobs, provide business for new franchise partners, and offer specialized promotions to serve the communities they operate in,” it said.

The company earlier earmarked P10 million to support the country’s efforts to fight COVID-19, offering free fuel and discounts to support frontliners from hospitals, local government units and transport groups.

In 2017, Seaoil built its biggest branch to date, the Seaoil-CityMall Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) mega station, and opened its 400th station in 2018.
