Smart’s LTE-advanced pocket WiFi available to prepaid users

MANILA, Philippines — Smart Communications Inc. is bringing fast and reliable connectivity to more users nationwide by making LTE-Advanced pocket WiFi available to prepaid subscribers.

The wireless arm of PLDT is offering Smart Bro LTE-Advanced pocket WiFi to prepaid customers for a one-time cash-out of P1,995.

“Initially available to postpaid subscribers, the Smart Bro LTE-Advanced pocket WiFi is aptly positioned as a new device to power our digital life as it enables users to enjoy speeds twice that of old Smart pocket WiFi devices to support all online activities on the go,” Smart said.

Smart Bro LTE-Advanced pocket WiFi delivers significantly faster speeds by using carrier aggregation, the latest technique in mobile communications that is used to help meet the target data rates for data-intensive mobile apps and services.

Aside from enabling users to experience significantly faster speeds and bigger data on the go, the device also lets users connect up to 10 WiFi-ready devices, which is twice that of regular pocket WiFi devices in the market.

The launch of Free Games for All comes on the heels of a recent report by the games market insights and analytics firm Newzoo, which cited that 74 percent of the country’s online population played games on mobile devices in 2019.

This number is expected to grow further this year as many Filipinos turned to mobile games as a form of entertainment amid the pandemic.
