Jack Ma’s Alibaba joins Philippines fintech group

MANILA, Philippines — Jack Ma’s Alibaba Cloud has joined the alliance of financial technology (fintech) companies in the Philippines to contribute to the growth of the local fintech industry.

Alibaba Cloud Intelligence country head of the Philippines Allen Guo said the company is  happy and honored to join the Fintech Alliance.ph.

During the recent virtual general membership meeting of the Fintech Alliance.ph, Alibaba Cloud was inducted as its newest member.

Fintech Alliance.ph chairman Lito Villanueva welcomed Alibaba Cloud to the roster of digital players shaping a dynamic and sustainable fintech landscape in the Philippines.

“Their membership came an opportune time as we enjoin all stakeholders to do its share in helping cushion the impact of the pandemic, while preparing for the new world order co-existing with COVID-19,” Villanueva said.
