MANILA, Philippines — Gokongwei-led Robinsons Bank Inc. has rolled out a new digital solution to provide ease and convenience for the thousands of Filipinos affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 pandemic.
Robinsons Bank, through its partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, started the digital disbursement of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) subsidy in Laurel, Batangas.
Salvador Paps, retail banking segment head at Robinsons Bank, said the beneficiaries were able to receive their SAP payouts through a cardless withdrawal process using the bank’s ATMs instead of going through manual disbursement and risk exposure to COVID-19.
Following the success of the initial distribution, the bank is set to roll out the cardless withdrawal of the SAP payout for the second batch of beneficiaries in Laurel, Batangas, and to more places in the National Capital Region and Albay in the coming weeks.
Robinsons Bank went through a lot of preparation to ensure that the service would be easy even for those unfamiliar with transacting via the ATM.
