PAL receives last Dash-8 aircraft order

MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has again bolstered its fleet as it received the last of the 12 Dehavilland Dash-8 aircraft orders it placed in 2017.

PAL said the 12th 86-seater De Havilland aircraft, also known as the Dash 8-400, has been delivered recently, which now brings to 14 the carrier’s total De Havilland turboprop aircraft.

PAL’s De Havilland turboprop aircraft fleet is composed of twelve 86-seaters and two 76-seaters.

PAL said the latest addition to its fleet is ready to serve its flourishing domestic route network.

“PAL’s 12th 86-seater De Havilland aircraft is now gearing up to fly across across the islands and ready to provide passengers operational efficiency and inflight comfort,” it said.

Just last month, PAL received the 11th of 12 Dash-8 aircraft orders.

According to PAL, the aircraft is known for its fuel-efficiency and quiet engine, which is expected to give passengers “an ultra-comfortable ride.”

Last Jan. 3, the airline commenced with its maiden Davao to Iloilo flight utilizing the modern 86-seater Dash-8.

PAL is also set to introduce thrice weekly flights between Davao and Manado, Indonesia by March, where the 86-seater Dash 8 will again be utilized for the upcoming service.

PAL, the country’s only four-star global airline, has a network covering more than 30 domestic and 40 international destinations.
