MANILA, Philippines — MWM Terminals Inc., a subsidiary of engineering and infrastructure company of Megawide, continues to improve services and facilities at the country’s first landport.

In partnership with Professional Parking Group (ProParking), MWM has opened a private car parking facility to encourage private car owners to park their cars and take public transportation from Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) instead.

The parking facility located at the third level of PITX has a total of 669 parking slots for private cars, motorcycles and UV Express vehicles.

“People can take advantage of our whole day flat rate promo at PITX. Just park your car, save money on fuel and expensive parking fees at central business districts, and relax while you’re on the road,” ProParking vice chairman and managing director Edwin Salonga said.

ProParking is the leading parking operator in the country with nearly 100 parking facilities in prestigious shopping malls, hotels, hospitals and commercial establishments.

The facility targets those that drive to work from the adjacent Cavite and Laguna provinces to business districts in the cities of Makati, Taguig, and Mandaluyong, plus Quezon City.

It will charge a flat rate of P60 for cars and P40 for motorcycles. Monthly parking is also available at P1,600 per month.

“We hope to encourage those who drive their own vehicles to just leave their car and take the bus or other modes of public transport from PITX to their destination. This way, we’re not only helping alleviate the traffic situation on Metro Manila, we also lessen our carbon footprint to the benefit of the environment,” PITX corporate affairs head Jason Salvador said.

Officially commissioned in November 2018, PITX is the first ever integrated and multimodal transport hub in the country.
