MANILA, Philippines — Telecommunications company Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (PT&T) has forged a strategic partnership with a global IT service provider to expand its enterprise solutions offering.

PT&T and US-based firm Virtalus announced a new partnership to deliver public and private cloud solutions for the Philippine market.

“Our partnership with Virtalus enables PT&T to launch value for money cloud services to empower more businesses,” PT&T president and CEO James Velasquez said.

“By partnering with an established global IT service provider, this is yet another milestone for PT&T in innovating our services for our customers. We can expect more key initiatives such as this as we venture further in the IT space,” Velasquez said.

The partnership will allow the two companies to offer public and private cloud solutions to PT&T’s enterprise clients in the country powered by Virtalus.

Mazhar Durani, CEO of Virtalus, said collaborating with an established Filipino telco firm like PT&T serves as an opportunity for the company to grow in the Asian market.

Besides the Philippines, Virtalus architects and deploys cloud infrastructure solutions that have been providing software defined data center services to organizations around the world including US, Mexico, Pakistan, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Its flagship architecture called Virtalus HyperCX Bento simplifies data center operations by streamlining the deployment, management, and scaling of data center resources.

“We are excited about our partnership with PT&T, and to bring immeasurable value to their customers. Virtalus has helped companies all over the world in developing, deploying and managing their cloud resources with efficiency and scale,” Durani said.

PT&T early this year partnered with 5GS Security Inc. to provide cybersecurity solutions to enterprises in the country.

5GS offers cybersecurity solutions, both hardware and software such as multi-dimensional security system, ground security–personnel access control, ground security – vehicle access control, ground security-perimeter protection, medium/low airspace protection (anti-drones), computer network/online protection, security visualization and security operations center.

Last year, the company teamed up with Paynamics, a global payment solutions provider, to offer secure and efficient electronic payment solutions for both large and small and medium enterprises.
