SM Mall expansion a boost to Pangasinan economy — lawmaker

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — Pangasinan 4th District Rep. Christopher de Venecia said the opening of SM Center Dagupan on Friday is further proof the city is becoming a highly urbanized industrial hub.

De Venecia, who was among the guests during the opening, said he foresees further economic boom in Dagupan, considered as the business center in Pangasinan.

SM Center Dagupan is SM Prime Holdings’ 74th mall and its third in Pangasinan.

De Venecia said Dagupan, which is part of his district, has long prepared for the entry of businesses with different infrastructure projects already in place.

“It was even more bustling after it rose from the rubble brought by the 1990 earthquake,” he said. 

Located along M.H. del Pilar St. close to the Dagupan downtown area, the new and vibrant SM Center Dagupan will bring residents and visitors a state-of-the art shopping center, complete with ample parking and a transport terminal. It will serve customers in this bustling area, as well as in nearby towns and cities in Pangasinan – Lingayen, Binmaley, Calasiao, Mangaldan, Sta. Barbara, Malasiqui and San Carlos.

Pangasinan has two other SM Malls, namely SM City Rosales and SM City Urdaneta Central.
