MANILA, Philippines — Several flights to and from Hong Kong were canceled late Tuesday afternoon as thousands of pro-democracy protesters continue to flood Hong Kong International Airport for the second consecutive day.
Hong Kong airport authorities suspended all check-ins, reversing a previous announcement that all departing flights have been canceled.

The decision to suspend all check-ins in the airport—one of the world’s busiest—happened after demonstrators blocked passengers from reaching entrances to the departure area in both terminals.
It came a day after authorities announced the unprecedented complete cancellation of all arriving and departing flights over a massive rally.
