Beauty trade shows gaining more popularity

MANILA, Philippines — The beauty business in the Philippines has been rapidly growing in the recent years, thanks to the rising influence of social media which impacts the level of importance that consumers give to their physical appearance.

Cosmetics influencers, beauty vloggers and celebrities have hugely inspired Filipinas to acquire knowledge about how to look and feel amazing by experimenting more on makeup, hair and skincare offerings.

The improving standards of living and purchasing power are also factors that supported the consumers’ increasing sophistication. 

This has resulted to the average growth of more than six percent in the cosmetics and toiletries (C&T) industry in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region in the next five years, according to international analytics firm GlobalData. The firm also projects the C&T industry to record a compounded annual growth rate of 6.3 percent from 2017 to 2022 — with growth coming mostly from Indonesia and the Philippines.
