MANILA, Philippines — Jolliville Holdings Corp. (JOH), through its property subsidiary Jolliville Leisure and Resort Corp., has opened a P350 million theme park in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
Touted as the first water recreation facility in the area, Jolly Waves Water Park and Resort features premium facilities complete with day-time accommodations, unique water amenities and function rooms.
Jolly Waves is located in Sapul, Calapan City, a short 15-minute ride from the Calapan Port.
“The themed waterpark is an integrated adventure park which features one of the biggest wave pools in the country, a treasure trove of slides, zip lines and sky bicycles pool playground, camp-pod accommodations, huts and cottages, pool bar, a food park, and a pavilion and events place,” said JOH chairman Jolly Ting.
The P350-million investment is designed to bring world-class resort experience to its guests from nearby municipalities of Mindoro Island and from the Luzon mainland.
The company is hitching a ride on the growing tourism industry in Oriental Mindoro.
It is considered a gateway to the MIMAROPA region and the Visayas and is accessible from areas like Batangas, Caticlan, Iloilo and Palawan.
As the regional hub of the MIMAROPA region, Calapan is also host to major private and governmental regional offices.
“The waterpark also adds to the leisure and tourist attractions and destinations of Oriental Mindoro, which boasts of its pristine beaches, caves, waterfalls, and mountains,” Ting said.
JOH is a diversified conglomerate with business interests in various industries that include real estate, power generation, water distribution, management, leisure and business process outsourcing.
