Tabasco adds spice to Philippines’ F&B industry
MANILA, Philippines — Premium food brand importer-distributor Sysu International Inc. and pepper sauce brand Tabasco recently organized a two-day workshop dubbed TasteSetters, which aimed to present emerging food trends and how it can leverage the Philippines’ food and beverage (F&B) industry.
Held at Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts in Mandaluyong, the workshop allowed members of manufacturing, restaurant, catering and hotel sectors to be at the forefront of trends that could boost their businesses.
“Sysu developed the workshop series as part of its mission to create a noteworthy program that elevates the art and science of food. We are making this possible through a solid win-win partnership not only with the international brands we carry, but also with the food industry stakeholders,” said Sandy Cu, product and business development director of Sysu.
The brand invited Tabasco international corporate chef Gary Evans to share the versatility of their product and demonstrate its unlimited application in appetizers, main courses, beverages and desserts.
Over the last 150 years, the Tabasco brand has been established as a household kitchen essential and been synonymous with hot sauce. In the recent decades, it has expanded its product offerings through craftsmanship and product innovation.
Aside from its classic sauces, Tabasco’s industrial ingredients are now staples in commissaries, restaurants and food manufacturing companies and enterprises.
“It is a global brand leader in pepper sauce and people look up to us for innovation. We are constantly looking for flavors and peppers from different regions and different countries,” Evans shared.
“It is now a 360-degree ingredient, which means it works on the front-of-house used on the table, at the back-of-house or the kitchen and recipes, and it also works behind the bar. So all around the F&B industry, Tabasco is probably there,” he added.
With this, Cu says that Tabasco can positively impact the country’s booming food industry through adding character to food and value to businesses.
