Globe apologizes for mobile data outage caused by ‘server issue’
MANILA, Philippines — Globe Telecom apologized for the disruption of its internet and data services that lasted for around seven hours Friday.
The Ayala-led telecommunications company said this in an advisory after restoring data and internet services. The interruption occurred from 1:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Friday.
“The service interruption was caused by a server issue,” it said.
All affected subscribers who are users of Globe Postpaid, Globe Prepaid, TM, Globe At Home LTE and Globe At Home Prepaid Wi-Fi “can now enjoy data/internet services again.”
“We request customers to please switch your mobile devices or modems off and on to reboot your numbers in our system,” Globe said.
Another Ayala Group company, Bank of the Philippine Island, was also hit by a systems issue this week. Its online and mobile services were restored after midnight Friday. — Gaea Katreena Cabico
