MANILA, Philippines — The Comelec perpetually disqualified a total of 105 candidates to hold public office “due to repeated failure to file their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE)” in the previous elections. This is based on Comelec’s strict implementation of Resolution 9476 and Republic Act 7122 – mandating all election candidates and political parties (winning or not) to submit their SOCE within 30 days after election.
To help those running for an election office avoid disqualifications, the Center for Global Best Practice will host a special training entitled, Election Best Practices on How to Prepare Your SOCE on Thursday, May 30 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City, Philippines.
