Aboitiz bags P206-M construction contract in Batangas ecozone

MANILA, Philippines — Aboitiz Construction Inc. (ACI) has bagged the P206-million contract to design and construct 69-kiloVolt overhead transmission line for the Lima Technology Center in Lipa, Batangas.

The construction arm of the Aboitiz group said the latest project strengthens its foothold in the power construction market and demonstrates its capability as a fully-fledged design, engineering, and construction company following its brand refresh two years ago.

ACI said the Lima Enerzone project would allow the company to undertake the entire scope of work from design to construction of the substation, switchyard and maintenance-related work for high and low voltage power lines.

Company president and chief operating officer Albert Ignacio Jr. said they were optimistic the project would pave the way for more similar endeavors in the future.

“This has actually opened doors for us and as we speak, we are talking to potential clients for a bigger transmission line project. What we have here is a synergy of two companies that can go a long way,” he said.

The transmission line will traverse 64 kilometers across Batangas City up to Lipa City, where the Lima Technology Center is located.

Lima Enerzone Corp. chief operating officer Dante Pollescas said the project, once completed, would benefit the locators within the industrial zone as it would increase reliability, ensure continued power supply, mitigate unwanted power outages, and address systems losses.

Pollescas expressed confidence in the capability of ACI to deliver the project ahead of schedule.
