MANILA, Philippines — Megaworld has tapped Megawide Construction Corp. as its EPC (engineer, procurement, construction) contractor for The Gentry Manor, located within its Westside City township in Pasay City.
Megawide chairman and CEO Edgar Saavedra said the company is proud to help deliver Megaworld’s first-world vision for Gentry Manor.
“Megaworld is one of our most valued long-term clients and we are grateful for their continued trust in Megawide. As a partner, we are committed to delivering only the highest standards of construction technology and excellence for Gentry Manor,” Saavedra said.
The project involves the construction of a podium and four 16-level towers, with a total contract price of P4.36 billion.
Megawide has commenced initial work for the project this month with completion targeted for January 2023.
It is also the contractor for other ongoing Megaworld developments such as the One Manchester Place in Mactan Newtown, Cebu; and the Albany and St. Mortiz properties in McKinley West, Taguig.
Publicly-listed since 2011, Megawide is the private partner for infrastructure projects such as the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) and the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
Megaworld has set aside P65 billion for capital spending this year.
Bulk or 80 percent of the capex will go to the company’s 23 townships across the country while the remaining 20 percent will be used for land acquisition and investment properties.
At present, Megaworld has 23 integrated urban townships across the Philippines composed of around 700 residential towers, 60 office towers, 17 lifestyle malls, and nine hotels in over 4,000 hectares of land across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
It is set to launch 28 new residential towers this year in its townships in key regional centers.
