SSS urges members to update contact info
“We strongly urge our members who are not yet registered in the My.SSS facility…to provide SSS their contact information for the issuance of PRNs (Payment Reference Number) via SMS,” SSS president and chief executive officer Emmanuel Dooc said in a statement.

MANILA, Philippines — State-run Social Security System (SSS) is urging its individually paying members, including self-employed, voluntary members, non-working spouses and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), to update their contact information with the agency to ensure faster processing of their contributions.

“We strongly urge our members who are not yet registered in the My.SSS facility…to provide SSS their contact information for the issuance of PRNs (Payment Reference Number) via SMS,” SSS president and chief executive officer Emmanuel Dooc said in a statement.

“This way, they will be able to pay their monthly contributions and avoid delays in the processing of their benefit claims and other services,” he added.

The generation of PRN is required for members to access SSS’s real-time processing of contributions (RPTC) program, which instantly validates, transmits and acknowledges contribution payment.

Among the benefits of RTPC are the accurate and real-time posting of contribution payments, minimized errors in contribution records, and faster turn-around time for processing of member’s and dependent’s benefits and loans, the SSS said.

Upon payment of their contribution using PRN, members will receive notifications via SMS that their contributions have been posted.

“There are three ways to update their contact information. One is through over-the-counter in any of the SSS branches nationwide. Two, through My.SSS account in our website. Three, through the SSS Mobile Application. We call on our members to also register in the My.SSS facility in the SSS website (www.sss.gov.ph)?and SSS Mobile Application, so they could generate their PRN on their own,”?Dooc said.

There are currently 83,606 pensioners; 124,583 OFWs; 563,219 voluntary members; 7,005 household helpers; 4.13 million employed members; 225,057 self-employed; and 7,141 non-working?spouses?who are registered in the SSS website.

Dooc earlier said adopting a PRN-based system would address delays in the posting of contribution payments, which results in ineligibility to SSS benefits and loans, and delays in the processing of claims.
