MyTown breaks ground on largest dorm building

MANILA, Philippines — Philippines Urban Living Solutions (PULS) Inc., the builder of MyTown dormitories, which is 61.2-percent owned by SM Investments Corp., recently broke ground on its largest building to date, a seven story-dormitory with 1,000 beds.

MyTown Los Angeles is set to rise along Kalayaan Avenue, Makati City, going to C-5.

It is located just a few minutes walk from Uptown. Moreover, the building is positioned alongside the BGC - Ortigas Link Bridge set to be completed by end of 2019.

Set to open by 2020, MyTown Los Angeles stands visibly in the UpTown area along 8th Avenue and is expected to become a landmark in BGC.

Mark Kooijman, CEO of PULS, said MyTown developments are strategically located.

“Location is key as we’ll bring much-needed MyTown co-living spaces to Uptown with this project. Moreover, the building is less than 15 minutes away from Makati CBD, 10 minutes from Ortigas and other MyTown buildings are just a two to five-minute walk from MyTown Los Angeles,” Kooijman said.

PULS continuous to innovate MyTown developments, turning it into effective ecosystems for people to live and work, said Jelmer Ikink, PULS group director.

”We’ve continued to innovate on our product, and that will really show at MyTown Los Angeles. This project brings location, an ecosystem for people to live, work and play, and modern facilities and amenities together while giving our tenants the familiar overall MyTown experience. This is one of our most exciting projects yet,” Ikink said.

To date, PULS Inc. has 16 dormitories in metro manila that cater to the BGC and Makati market, serving more than 10,000 young professionals with a total number of 3,000 beds overall.

With the launch of MyTown Los Angeles, the brand aims to expand its network and tap the Ortigas central business district.
