Management Association of the Philippines names Riza Mantaring new president

MANILA, Philippines — The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) has named Sun Life executive Riza Mantaring as its new president, the fourth woman to head MAP since it was formed in 1950.

Mantaring currently serves as chair of Sun Life Financial Philippines Holding Co., director at Sun Life Grepa Financial and chair of Sun Life Foundation.

She is also an independent director of Ayala Land, First Philippine Holdings and MicroVentures Foundation, as well as a board member of Makati Business Club and Philippine Business for Education.

For this year, Mantaring will be leading MAP along with ACCRA Law senior partner Francis Lim as vice president; Benedicta Du-Baladad, managing partner and CEO of Du-Baladad and Associates, as treasurer; Cesar Romero, country chair of Shell Companies in the Philippines, as assistant treasurer, and Maria Carolina Dominguez, president and CEO of John Clements Consultants, as secretary.

Other board members are Jose Rene Almendras, president and CEO of AC Infrastructure Holdings Corp.; John Philip Orbeta, managing director and head of Corporate Resources Group of Ayala Corp., Justo Ortiz, chair and CEO of Union Bank of the Philippines and former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas governor Amando Tetangco Jr., a member of the board of directors of Philippine Airlines.
