MANILA, Philippines — Semirara Mining and Power Corp.’s Victor Almeda Consunji passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018. He was 68 years old.
“Under Mr. Consunji's leadership, he was able to turn around the coal mining operations allowing the Corporation to reach new heights paving the way for SMPC to become the only integrated power company in the country,” SMPC told the stock exchange on Friday.
At the time of his death, Consunji was the vice-chairman of the board of directors, as well as the president and chief operating officer of SMPC.
He was also the president and COO of SEM-Calaca Power Corp. and Southwest Luzon Power Generation Corp.
Consunji was likewise a director of DMCI Holdings Inc — which was incorporated on March 8, 1995 as a holding company to consolidate all construction business and related interests of the Consunji family.
