Citicore Energy, Citystate Centre ink retail supply contract
MANILA, Philippines — The retail electricity supply unit of Citicore Renewable Energy Corp. (CREC) has renewed its power supply contract with its first retail power customer, Citystate Centre Condominium Corp.
Citicore Energy Solutions Inc. (CESI) and Citystate Centre have forged their second retail supply contract which will enable CESI to continue supplying 2.6-megawatts (MW) of clean and sustainable energy to Citystate. This is a renewal from their first signed agreement last year.
Citystate president Rodolfo V. Zapanta said “CESI provides transparency, good customer care and most especially offering a competitive rate for their clients.”
“We are pleased to be sourcing our power requirements once again from Citicore Energy Solutions Inc. This agreement reinforces our commitment to contract clean renewable energy for our consumption as it is a practical business solution that can help lower operating costs,” Zapanta said.
Meanwhile, CESI president Manolo Candelaria said the renewal of the contract is proof of the company’s success in delivering not just clean and competitively priced power supply, but also excellent customer service.
“We are grateful for the trust and support that Citystate had given us. We strive to continue improving our services and to further strengthen our partnership moving forward. We are looking forward to a long term and fruitful partnership with Citystate,” he said.
The contract was done under the Retail Competition and Open Access scheme which allows large electricity consumers in Luzon and Visayas with an average monthly peak demand of at least 1 MW to have the option to seek their own power suppliers.
CESI also supplies power to the Ayala Group and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
CESI’s parent company CREC has more than 100 MW existing capacity from its eight solar power plants in Bataan, Bulacan, Cebu, Negros Occidental, Pampanga, and South Cotabato.
Other than solar power, the company is working on several biomass and hydropower projects in the pipeline.
