MANILA, Philippines — Cebu Pacific Air has expanded its component support contract with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance for the inclusion of 39 aircraft.
The contract, which included seven A321ceo and 32 A321neo aircraft, is on top of the component support agreement Cebu Pacific signed last year with AFI KLM E&M.
Cebu Pacific said the array of services provided under the long-term contract includes component repairs from Europe and Singapore, as well as access to local spares pool.
“It is a great honor for us to have been able to rapidly convince the airline of our expertise and efficiency. We have taken up a challenge by demonstrating our ability to adapt to its ambitious fleet plan and operating imperatives in very short order,” AFI KLM E&M senior vice president Fabrice Defrance said.
The Cebu Pacific fleet is currently comprised of 36 Airbus A320, five Airbus A321ceo, and eight Airbus A330, while the Cebgo fleet is composed of eight ATR 72-500 and 10 ATR 72-600 aircraft.
Between 2018 and 2021, Cebu Pacific expects delivery of 45 brand-new aircraft as part of its fleet renewal program, composed of two Airbus A321ceo, five Airbus A320neo, six ATR 72-600, and 32 Airbus A321neo.
As the country’s leading low-cost carrier, it continues to expand its network locally and abroad.
On Friday, Cebu Pacific commenced commercial operation of its daily flight between Clark International Airport to the Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao.
Meanwhile, the direct Cebu Pacific service between Clark and Tagbilaran, Bohol will begin operating on Dec. 15.
With the expansion of its footprint at the Clark International Airport, Cebu Pacific’s flights in and out of Clark will reach 3,711 by the end of 2018, representing 620,540 seats.
“Since our maiden Clark-Cebu route in 2006, we have never stopped operating in Clark and we have never left Clark…Through the years, Clark has proven its viability as a gateway to North and Central Luzon. We remain committed to being a partner in the development of the Clark Economic Zone though ramping-up our air connectivity,” said Jomar Rodriguez, Cebu Pacific vice president for safety and quality.
