Iris Gonzales - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Max’s Group Inc. (MGI) announced the merger of its two subsidiaries behind Jamba Juice and Krispy Kreme.

The two wholly owned subsidiaries are Fresh Healthy Juice Boosters Inc. (FHJBI) and The Real American Doughnut Co. Inc. (TRADCI), with the latter as the surviving corporation.

“The resulting transaction is aligned with ongoing reorganization initiatives to maximize operational synergies across the business and does not adversely impact existing shareholders,” MGI said.

FHJBI manages the franchise of Jamba Juice in the Philippines, a popular beverage outlet. Originating from California in 1990, Jamba Juice is known for its healthy fruit smoothies and fresh pressed juices.

TRADCI, on the other hand, manages the franchise of Krispy Kreme in the Philippines.

Krispy Kreme is a popular doughnut company in the US which enjoys strong demand for its assortment of donuts. It also serves  coffee.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the merger.

MGI’s other food brands are Max’s Restaurant, Max’s Corner Bakery, Pancake House, Yellow Cab Pizza, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s, Le Couer De France and Sizzlin’ Steak.
