Online portal up for IT-BPM job prospects

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) is launching an online portal to help link graduates with career opportunities in the information technology –business process management (IT-BPM) industry.

IBPAP president and chief executive officer Rey Untal said the online portal, which would link graduates to IT-BPM companies and career opportunities available in the industry, would be initially launched in September and go full blast in November.

“By September, early September, in our HR (human resources) Summit, we are unveiling talent attraction ecosystem that will really help us in our cause to make this industry a first choice among many potential graduates,” he said.

He said the portal would also cater to individuals who are already employed in the IT-BPM industry but are interested in other opportunities within the sector.

Through the portal, he said individuals would be able to get suggestions on jobs within the industry which match their course and interests.

Apart from suggested jobs, the portal would provide information on the companies hiring for the said position, location of offices, as well as salary.

Untal said IBPAP is working with online employment platforms Jobstreet and Kalibrr for the portal.

He said the initiative is being undertaken to encourage more graduates to be involved in the industry.

“We want to demystify and we want to be more appealing,” he said.
