TPB launching pocket trade fairs
MANILA, Philippines — The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) is set to launch a number of pocket trade fairs across the country.
Albert Gadia Jr, TPB market specialist II of the domestic promotions department, told The STAR that the pocket trade show is a maiden product initiated by the TPB.
Gadia said these trade shows serve as promotion of tourism products.
“For example, the venue is in Luzon, but the sellers are from Visayas and Mindanao. So we’re giving them the opportunity to sell their products and services,” Gadia explained.
Gadia said the agency would hold one trade show each in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The first one will be held in Luzon in May followed by Davao in August and October in the Visayas region.
The TPB is also supporting various travel fairs, such as the 25th Travel Tour Expo (TTE) organized by the Philippine Travel Agencies Association, which is slated next month.
Around 400 exhibitors are expected to take part in this year’s TTE, higher than the 333 exhibitors last year.
The TTE will also coincide with the third installment of the International Travel Trade Expo, which allows PTAA members to have pre-appointed one-on-one meetings with executives from international companies and national tourism organizations.
