Nanning, China – China and members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which includes the Philippines, are expected to enhance further the cooperation on investment and production in several fields as the city hosts the 14th China-ASEAN Expo (Caexpo).

“Bilateral high-level forums on production capacity and investment cooperation will be held between China and Cambodia, China and the Philippines and China and Vietnam,” said Gao Feng, spokesman for China’s ministry of commerce, in a statement.

During the Caexpo, forums and exhibitions on production capacity and cooperation in the manufacture of several equipment will be tackled by China and the countries of Cambodia, Vietnem and the Philippines, Gao said.

“Exhibitions will highlight railways, non-ferrous metals, electric power, building materials, engineering machinery and relevant cooperation projects, to effectively reveal China’s strengths in industrial production capacity, equipment manufacturing, high technology and innovation,” Gao noted.

The Caexpo will also feature events that promote investment, such as the CAEXPO Roundtable Meeting on Investment Cooperation and Promotion Conference on ASEAN Industrial Parks, the China-ASEAN Infrastructures Cooperation Forum, the China-ASEAN Electric Power Cooperation and Development Forum.

This year, the Caexpo will feature 6,600 booths in the exhibition area that covers 124,000 square meters, with 1,523 booths coming from eight ASEAN countries, including the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam.

The booths will exhibit commodities and practices on smart manufacturing, technology and innovation on various fields like agriculture, equipment production and environmental protection.
