Savemore Aparri opens to serve shoppers in the far north.

MANILA, Philippines - SM Markets, the country’s biggest food retail chain, has expanded its presence in Philippines as it now has branches in Aparri and in General Santos.

This will bring to 265 the number of SM Markets branches nationwide.

The goal is to open even in far-flung places where no one imagined an SM Markets store could open, to deliver world-class products and services to every Filipino household.

At present, the retail chain has an expansion rate of 30 stores per year to its world-class food shopping in every city and municipality in the Philippines.

The retail chain is an offshoot of unified brands of SM Supermarket, Savemore Market and SM Hypermarket as part of the SM Group’s continuing innovation.

“Having a holistic view of the disparities of rural and urban markets pushed SM Markets to close the gap through its stores, especially those in remote areas, which act as main shopping centers for their communities,” SM Markets said in a statement.

SM Markets also contributes to its communities’ progress as top taxpayers that gave them 30 recognitions from different cities and municipalities as their top tax payer.

It has received three Corporate Gold Bagwis seals and 163 store level Gold Bagwis Seals from the Department of Trade and Industry.

The Philippine Retailers Association likewise awarded SM Markets the Best Supermarket and Best Hypermarket of the Year awards with SM Hypermarket earning Hall of Fame status for winning back-to-back from 2014 to 2015.

SM Markets has won countless awards for displaying excellence in both customer and community service.
